wrench light
I was all set to go. decided to check the air filter and check all fluids. it was pretty dirty under the hood so i got the hose out and gave her a once over. NOW the darn thing won't run. The wrench light is on and rpms do not respond with gas petal. it is in the 'limp home' mode. i disconnected batteryand reconnected. i've tried to led idle for thirty minutes ti dry everthing out. everthing is dry as a bone under there. what the he!! anybody had this problem? its not like i drenched her. i just took a hose and sprayed the larger plastic areas to rid them of dirt. now i'm stuck??????????
I haven't ever done it to my truck, but my stang a few times. You obviously got water in something electrical, likely ignition related. It will probably fire right up again and be normal by morning. Wouldn't worry to much just yet as long as you made it home.

I dumped a quart of "dishwasher" detergent on the motor, then drove it into my father's pool.I put on my "wetsuit" and hooked up an air supply... "dove in" and tried to "crank it up".
What a POS!!! It won't start. These Fords really suck. Should I replace the CPU. Will Ford pay for it? Maybe it is the #4 cop? Damn Ford! Maybe they should replace my truck with a nice dry one. Next time I'll buy a GM or Chrysler!....not aimed at you j/k
ROFL!
Seriously, he got water in the plugwells.
Don't be surprised it it either doesn't dry out or if the water causes a COP to fail completely.
Pull the codes to see which cylinder(s) the computer has determined it is having problems with.

I don't know why these Ford trucks suck so bad? Alls I wanted to do was "clean" a sooty engine. I could have used a sponge and a bucket of soapy water. But all that "wiping" seemed soooo slow!

Use compressed air to blow the water outta those plug-wells. I know it will help. Others have had this problem, and these Fords are sensative to water.
Good Luck
