5.0 Oil Usage

Its me again, and this time I wanted to know if anyone has had a problem with oil usage in their 5.0L. Mine is a 1988 F-150, 87,000 original miles, but it uses about a quart every 1000 miles. Doesn't smoke or anything, shows a few small leaks on the driveway, but nothing major. Is there anything I can check to tell what is causing the oil consumption? You can probably tell I am no mechanic, so any help will be appreciated.

Those drops in driveway could turn out to be more while going down the highway. Is there oil stains spreading toward the rear on bottom of truck. I have 89' 302 and dry on engine bottom. I use a qt in 4K. I have 93K on Bronco.
