5.0 Won't Start

Hey guys....today I went to play golf and driving there my 1988 F-150 5.0L was running great as usual. Shut off truck, played golf, got ready to leave, will not start. Turns over fine, but doesn't even try to fire. Some guys at the club said it could be the ignition control module? Looks like mine is on the distributor (TFI). Do these things just fail all of a sudden like that? I would appreciate any help. Thanks.......

They can. They don't always, but they can. You really should first confirm whether it's a fuel or spark issue.

Diddo. The other thing I had happen to mine was the water temp sender died so that when the engine wanted to switch from open to closed loop it would just die. There are a multitude of things it could be but ignition modules do die like that some times. You might plug in the code scanner and see if it threw any codes. Thats how I figured out the water temp thing after nearly getting killed a couple times with it dying in the intersection.

Update!

Thanks guys for the responses. It WAS the ignition module. Had to have it towed in and repaired. Only $180.00 towing and all, but she runs like a top again!
