water damage trans not shifting
Well JMC I was hoping you were wrong about the fluid, and filter change, but you were not, that would have been to easy, but i'm glad I did change because when I got the pan off, there was a 10mm nut laying on top of the filter, when I dump the rest of the fluid out of the pan there were 3 more, and the other 2 or 3 were about to come off of the valve body, put them all back on ,and checked the 8mm bolts and about half of them were slightly loose, was hoping that was the problem, but it was not, will check the dtr sensor further,is there anyway to test the sensor? Thanks
PURE LUCK! On the way home from work tonight the trans shifts fine. I had driven about 40 miles to and from work the last three days (total miles, not each day) and it starts to work again. Can't go much over 35 in morning and evening traffic so it wasn't to bad in 1st and 2nd. Hopefully it will stay right. Must have been something electrical that dried out. Only thing I really did was reset the computer but that was three days before. Hope you have the same luck!

problem solved it was water in the trans range sensor connector, when i removed the connector water ran out, after using a shop vac and air,it still did not shift, but after he drove it home, and it sat over night it started shifting the next morning.
