01' SuperCrew Q's

Ok, I bought me a white Supercrew lariat F150 about 2 weeks ago and the truck is 100% stock. I was curious if anyone has some info on the 5.4 Triton (how good of a motor is it, any obvious problems from the factory) and I plan to add a K&N and maybe a flowmaster to it, anyone know the amount of hp I should gain on the filter and exhaust? Here in about a month I'm going to put 22s on it and lower it.

Any advice (Without the smartazz remarks) lol

If you plan on increasing the tire size I would recommend changing the differential gear ratio. Depending on what diameter tires you have now you can use a calculator to recommend the appropriate replacement gear for the new tire size you planon installing. Most of the Ring and Pinion sites have the calculator in their tech section. Expect to pay 600.00+ for one set of gears installed and double if you have 4x4. If you don’t have that kind of scratch you could look at programmers. Contact Mike Troyer in the Chips forum. His screen name is Superchips Distributor. He can advise you what mod to get to maximize your investment.

You wont gain much noticable hp with those two mods. Like JMC said, if you want a noticable difference, get a Troyer programmer.
