Cool Changing out a starter

My truck figured that the best time for the starter to fail was while I'm on vacation in a small town in New Hampshire...at 4 pm Saturday to boot.

So how hard is it to swap out this starter. I'd try it myself but didn't bring my tools. I hear it's not hard at all and local guy (former mechanic) has offered to do it for me Sunday sometime. Is this a no-brainer for someone who has some ability or can it be screwed up and fail on me half way back home?

I had this similar problem in NH a couple years ago but it was only the starter wires that were corroded. I'll be checking that first before we try swapping it out.

Thanks in advance for the info...Scott

just remove the cables and mount bolts. do the hardest to get to bolt first.
