Cylinder Misfire

Cylinder Misfire

hey every body my truck has been acting kinda funny lately my check engine light is on so i diagnosed and found out that cylinder 4 and 8 are misfiring, but i dont know which cylinder is which. if anyone could help me and let me know which cylinders 4 and 8 are that would be great. thanks

Front of truck

Both rears are bad. There is a lot of heat build up back there that deforms the boot on the coil letting moisture in. Eventually the coil goes bad.

And I assume you have the 5.4L engine. My 1999 5.4L engine had two #4 coil packs replaced. There is a TSB about a hose dripping fluid onto the #4 coil pack. Ford did something special to the hose (a clamp I think) to prevent it from dripping and shorting out the #4 coil pack. First coil pack went at 18,000 miles and the next one went about 10,000 miles later at 28,000.
