All kinds of rumours are flying here in Windsor about diesels bieng built here, and I actually heard about a small and a big one together in the same plant.

Also the magic # I heard was that 6.3 or 6.4 # but nothing about twin turbo. That would be too sweet. There is something brewing for the superduty.

It's got twin turbos, sequentially setup, one is VGT, the other is conventionally wastegated. Boost is supposed to be in the low-mid 30 psi range. It'll still have EGR, there's coolers for everything on the truck, no more high pressure oil system, they've gone to a high pressure fuel system to actuate the injectors at around 35,000 psi. Everything from the head gaskets down is about the same as a 6.0, just with more displacement. International's claiming 350 hp/650 ft-lbs, or somewhere around there. They're shooting for a second or third quarter '07 release to work the rest of the bugs out of the engine.

ETA - There's also supposed to be alignment plates on the cab and detailed instructions in the service manuals for lifting the body off the frame for major engine repairs. Packaging looks like a nightmare with this engine, there's supposed to be no plans whatsoever to attempt major repairs with the body on the frame or the engine in the chassis. There's no plans to put this engine in an Econoline either.

LIfting the cab off for repairs now that sounds like a real BETTER IDEA and if international is building it will be a POS!!! IMO

Say what you want about International diesels......Way back in 1980, the family purchased 2 International Scout Travelers....A forerunner to todays SUVs....They both had 6 cyl inline turbo diesels.....Not much for HP, but could not kill those damn engines....Both ran for over 300k miles, but the bodies.....Well thats another story.....Can you say no floorboards...lol...

I pull a bulldozer with my truck, and it would pull it 75mph if I was brave.
