He said in this article that it was a 4.6 in the pictures:https://www.f150online.com/forums/sh...45#post2064445

Mine has a 5.4, and it may not be just like yours, but mine looks really hard to talke the throttle body off. The throttle body looks similar to the ones in his pics. but it has more junk made on to the rear of it. This would make removal difficult (I think). I chickened out because my truck runs too good to screw up and it was dark,so I just removed the EGR valve and looked into the ports. The EGR valve was mounted on the side of the throttle body. Removal took only a deep well 10mm socket and a 1 1/4 wrench.

They looked fine to me. They had a thin coating of soot on them, but they weren't even close to being stopped up. I'd leave them alone if I were you. I got lucky taking my egr valve off without tearing up anything. That egr pipe was stuck really bad. I have 160,000 miles on mine, but that figure is very innacurate. I let the truck idle almost as much as i drive it. Especially in the summer.

*edit* I keep saying ports. Mine only had one.

Cool Guess we'll have to live with it...

I've heard some say they get about 20mpg, and others 14-15. I guess it's all in how heavy your foot is. I haven't found anything that helps, so I guess I'll just have to live with it.
On a lighter note, My truck's been idleing ruff, I've used all kids of system cleaners with no luck. The other day when I was buying my rear brake shoes at Autozone, the salesman recommended the STP whole system cleaner. I was skeptical, but got it anyway. Somehow, my truck is idleing fine now.
