2002 F-150 FX4---Tune Up Advice
My wife's 2002 F-150 FX4 SCrew (5.4L) has about 50,000 miles on it. She doesnt complain, but while driving/riding in it, i have noticed that at idle, it is a bit rougher than it was new, or when it was newer. It also seems to has a hesitation or stumble when you go to pass or give it gas real quick. There is nothing really WRONG with it, but i believe it is about time for a tuneup to get rid of these things.
What do i need to do for this truck for a usual tune-up as far as replacement parts and cleaning things? I usually do all my own mechanic work on my vehicles, but the last one i tuned up was my Dodge, and thats just cap/rotor/wires/plugs and clean up the TB.

I would do the following.
Plugs, clean the throttle body, air filter.
Then if you see any operational problem address it knowing the basics should not be at fault.
50 K is not all that many miles yet.

I would start by cleaning the IAC, throttle body, and EGR valves (you can search for info on all these).
Its relatively easy to do, you just need to buy some throttle body cleaner, and maybe some q-tips if the ports are really bad. I have seen a few members post that the carbon buildup was so bad they had to use a drill to get a good bit of it out.
