5.4l Problems..help

2005 F150 5.4L... I have been experiencing a shudder/misfire in the 1200-2000 RPM range. I took it to the dealer and they informed me that this is a characteristic of Ford and that all Ford engines have this vibration/shudder. I find this hard to believe since it is a sympton that started about 5K miles ago.. I have 15K onthe truck. I is really pronounced under a load and is definetly isolated to RPM not a specific speed. There are no error codes (so I'm told). I believe that the dealer is either unable or unwilling to properly diagnois this problem. HELP!
