Angry another egr gone bad?????????

I just replaced this d@!# thing 4 months ago, and I'm getting the CEL egrvalve code again. I tried cleaning first, didn't work, so I replaced both the dpfe and egr valve. what gives? do you think the parts would be under any kind of warranty. they are wells parts, and I got them at autozone. thanks chris

What code? SEARCH for it.

For example, a P0401 is usually either a clogged EGR port or the DPFE sensor. Very rarely an EGR valve.

What troubleshooting have you done?

Have you done ANY diagostics to see what is wrong or have you just been guessing?

Steve

Yes, what code?
The EGR valve itself rarely goes bad, usually just needs to be cleaned.

Is this a 5.4 motor? Have you checked for a vacuum leak BETWEEN the intake and firewall, in the EGR tubing... I had the check engine light twice within weeks of eachother, and found corroded tubing in two DIFFERENT locations
