Intake elbow porting

Intake elbow porting

This might be a stupid question but has any body ported the TB intake elbow themselves if not could a machine shop do it.

I did mine myself. Its a bizitch. You'll need some extended shank bits to get down in there to the middle area. I used a dremel for part of it, and a pnuematic die grinder for the other parts. And there is a lot of excess metal on that thing, port freely@!

I got a BBK 75MM TB. I have a good 1/8 of inch that needs to come out did u do the whole inside of the elbow.

HI!... Did mine about 6 years ago. Don't bother with a dremel unless you have time to kill. You will need a strong high speed drill, a rounded tip 1/4 shanked carbide cutter, 1 60, 80, 120, 180, 240 grit 3" paddle sanding wheels and a 3" cotton polishing wheel and some aluminum polishing compound.





You can also do your TB :

damn neal kinda over did it on that throttle body. i had mine done on a machine lathe took about 20 min. and there was plenty of material left on the side walls.

HI!... FASTER : I don't know what your talking about but my TB is still a true 70MM inside diameter. Only took me 30 minutes to do it and polish it. The beginning is tapered to allow more airflow without any restrictions.

P.S : I can't seem to view the pics in this thread anymore? Everywhere else I can, just not in this thread? Anyone else having this problem? It's just like they vanished, no red X's or anything.

mine work fine.. probably just refresh the page. or right click and view image. yeh i figured u taperd it. that is what it looks like when i looked at it more closely
