100k tune up 01 F150

New to the site and a new F150 owner. First pick up truck as well!!
I got a great deal on a 01 F150 Supercrew 4x4 5.4 liter Triton V8 Lariat Flareside, I just couldnt say no. Only real bad thing was that it had 98k miles. I want to get the 100k tune up before really driving it much more. Truck runs great but does have a bit of a shudder to it when accelerating. Thinking might be just in need of that tune up. Friend I bought it from just had the one thing that consumer reports says goes wrong with that year the Fuel ignition or some such thing replaced.
I am really getting into my truck and want to get alot done to it. Things that I have read about on this site.
If anyone can help with what kind of Spark Plugs are the best for this year and model as well as wires and any other things that I need to look at while I am giving it its tune up. I have done alot of searching on the site just cant find anything that is 01 specific.
Thanks in advance for any help.

James

Just stay away from Bosch plugs. I run NGKs. Doesn't realy matter what brand plug you use. Be sure to replace the boots on the coil while you are doing the plug change. They wear out too.

Motorcraft, Autolite Double Platinums, NGK, I would stick to those 3.

Dont worry about changing the wires, the 5.4L has COP ignition, so there arent spark plug wires (in the traditional sense) to worry about replacing.

That statement is exactly why I recommend replacing the boot. Becasue there is no plug wire on COP ignitions people tend to think that nothing but the plug needs replacing. Boot replacement should be done at regular intervals. Not replacing them can lead to arking and that could damage the coil.
