02 F150 problems after "sea foam" treatment
Haha. I doubt it's seafoams problem;
Had you followed the directions and researched what to do on this forum. (Multiple Threads On Seafoam) You most likely wouldn't have a problem. I can understand some of you not wanting to use the "Remedy In A Can" Although I used it this past weekend after much research and I am very pleased with the results. Luckily I was running a nice 2 hour (Back Roads) Trip Before I did each of the treatments; So It had plenty of time to run the seafoam through the system. 6OZ Brake Booster, 6OZ in the Gas tank at A little below Half a tank left.
Idles smoother, Pick up is stronger, Exhaust smells cleaner...
Sounds like you did something wrong mountaineer02v8

I bought a code reader myself yesterday so I don't have to take it up to the store to find out what the codes are anymore. I hooked it up to the computer, and now it's saying Cylinder 1,2 and 5 are now all misfiring. It used to be just 2 and 5, but now it's also cylinder 1.
I took out the spark plugs and they look new yet after I just replaced them just 2 weeks ago, so I don't know how they are misfiring now?

I have also read before I used it, if the truck has never used any cleaner before (which it has not) to use the hole can through the brake booster, which I did to all 3 cars (f-150-mountaineer, and Honda accord all used a can each through the brake booster line) Honda and the mountaineer is running perfect, but the only problem was on the F150.

Were you messing with anything else under the hood?
just because the plugs look new doesn't mean they aren't bad. Just replace them with motorcrafts, they aren't very expensive and hopefully that will fix the problem. I also wouldn't even run any of these "fix in a can" cleaners through even a carburated engine, much less a modern fuel injection motor. I might help it run smoother after using it, but you don't know what else you are shortening the life of inside.

I'm chasing after a missfire problem myself but the work seems to be progressing slowly; 3 plugs changed in 2 nights of work!
good luck!
Well I don't think your seafoam treatment broke anything. But that is only IMHO. But becasue you had to remove the brake booster hose to get the seafoam into the engine I would trace all my steps to be sure that you did not accidently displace something. If you find something loose or disconnected fix that first. Now if you find nothing, as suggested I would track down the misfires and treat the diagnostics as you would if you had not used any seafoam. Did you check the GAP on the plugs to see if it was to spec? What about the wires and coil packs? And last but not least what about the injectors. try some Seafoam in the tank to clean them.

Just had a thought, you mentioned in the "SEAFOAM, HOW I LOVE THEE" thread that the brake booster line was siliconed in place. Maybe without it being sealed by silicone you have a vacuum leak.

didnt botther mine and i ran the whole can through... but u dont want to let the seafoam hydrolock the engine or u will fudge up more stuff
try the Neal/"italian Tune up" method.... try a 50 or a 75 dry shot of nitrous let that clean the engine out.. does a better job. try that mountaneer that should clean off them plugs and anything else in its wrath :-p

I did buy new spark plugs today, and will change them later on this afternoon, hopfully this fixes this problem. I probably will never use this crap anymore.
