94' 4.9L Air pump.

The air pump on my 94 F150's 4.9 has started to make noise, basically the pump's internals are working against it(bearings). I've checked prices to replace it, but that does not seem to be an option at the price(upwards of 600.00can).

What I was wondering, is if there is a shorter belt that I can get for the truck, to exclude the airpump. I dont know if there is one even available. Thats why I came here. I could just put a bolt in the head, and the exhaust and run it without the pump.

Bad Idea

It's a bad idea to bypass the air pump, I believe on those models, it is used for emissions control. While you may not be concerned about emissions, your gas mileage may go down the tube as well as horsepower amongst other things.

I am not worried about emissions.

I disconnected the airlines going to the head, as well as the exhaust, and I felt no change in the way the truck drove.
