Running Hot
Just put a rebuild in my 1992 F150 (302). I bought the unit from individual. The engine was putting combustion into radiator. Did head job and had heads cut 15. The engine runs normal temp local but on long runs in a pull the temp goes hot. New fan clutch, radiator cap and thermostat. Am trying my old waterpump today. Any suggestions????
It is a new radiator (2yrs) did not overheat with old engine. The temp guage goes from normal to the end of the white markings in just seconds. It pushes water out of the top of water bottle and does not pull it back in radiator. I can open cap and let off pressure and the temp goes to normal until another hill.

Talked with the man I purchased engine from, he thinks it may have been run hot before I bought engine. Checked engine compression (&&^^%$#@#$) 75 lbs and each cylinder. No wonder it is heating up on hills, it is trying to hard to pull that it doesn't have time to cool!! He is going to give me another engine. So much for all my time. It has been a learning experience!!!! Philippians 1:12 "But I would ye should understand, brethren, that the things which happened unto me have fallen out rather unto the furtherance of the gospel."
