warmup time
I think alot of the things we were told to do while we were growing up have stuck as habit because of how vehicles were being made 20-30 years ago. Tailgate up? or down? warm-up before you go? or don't need to warm-up? break in a vehicle or don't break in vehicle? 500 mile break-in or 1000 mile break-in, regular? synthetic?. Everyone was taught and has learned something different throughout the years. Do what makes you happy. It doesn't hurt to read and learn either. we don't want to screw up a new vehicle.
Here is a different slant on things.
Start the cold engine then put climate selector on inside max A/C and heat control to full heat.
See if you don't begin to get heat out of the vents within 5 min even before the engine temp needle begins to move.
Then when it's hot move to regular floor heat as the needle begins to move or let it stay on max A/C and the vents air will get quite hot.
I don't know if the A/C system is acting a little like a heat pump but it works.

After the first few minutes of driving this morning my coolant temp was about 145, Engine oil temp was a tad under 100, and my transmission temp was about 70 - I was in stop and go traffic.
