V10 spit a plug, got lucky

Was driving the work van on Wednesday, just about to leave a parking lot and BANG!! I knew right away what that godawful noise was. I was able to get the van back to the shop and discovered that the #6 coil was dangling and the plug actually ended up beside the hole laying between the intake and the valve cover. I let her sit for about an hour and a half and managed to get the plug started back in the hole. The motor was still too warm to press my luck so I waited til morning and the plug went back in like it had never happened. Only damage was the coil where it bolts to the intake, but I had lots of spares. I think the plug must have just vibrated out, and I hate to say it, but I did hear the ticking prior to the event, probably for about two or three months, just thought it was valve clatter. Lesson learned!! :o It's just such a chore to get at them plugs I think I was in denial and didn't want to bother.

It's been a week now, and no indication of any problems. I did wait for it to cool down overnight and when I put the plug back in, I counted six turns(full revolutions) by hand before I had to snug it up with the ratchet. I think it will be fine.

There are several guys on here who have had plug blowouts and put the plug back in with no problems. If it goes back in fine, runs fine, sounds fine, then it should be fine.
