Antifreeze leak... no it was a gusher

Yesterday I got home and parked the 96 F-150. About 10 minutes later I saw that there was a massive puddle of antifreeze under her. I filled her back up and let it sit for a few hours. Leaking had stopped. I ran an errand, came home and not 5 minutes later, the radiator was empty again. The temp gauge ran in the normal range while I was driving it. Any suggestions on what could be the problem? I checked the hoses, and they seemed fine.

Mine leaked near the firewall at the passenger side just above one of the COP, this also caused the COP to missfire. Also check you waterpump if there's coolant leaking in the seeping hole. I found the best way to find these leaks is to buy a UV die and place it in your radiator. You will see where the leak is using blue or UV light. Goodluck.

COP is Coil On Plug, its the black round thing that is placed over the spark plugs. You should see 4 on each side of the V8 engine.

I'm not familiar with the V6 model, in the V8 model there's a hose running at the passenger side back of the motor that connects to an aluminum tube. It carries a coolant and mine leaks there.

Also try using the dye solution to find the leak. Here's an article

'96 didnt have COP.

Try filling the coolant back up and run the truck for a while with the heater on full blast, keep an eye on it and see if you can spot the leak. Shouldn't be too hard, it sounds like a pretty good sized leak.
