Engine hesitation

I have a 1999 F-150 4.7 engine and have been having engine hesitation when I accelerate. The engine hesitation seems to be the most noticeable when I accelerate onto a highway or start up an overpass. I have changed out the plugs and the fuel filter to no avail, the problem still exists. I have no "Check engine " light on as well. Any other means of troubleshooting I can use? Thanks in advance for the help.

Just checking, but did you get new wires when you did the plugs?
How's about the MAF?

No. I gave it some thought, but tried the plugs and filter first..

Thanks for the reply,

I think its in the programming. Everything is perfect until WOT. It pulls strong then up in the higher RPM it hesitates. It doesnt hesitate like a plug or wire. It's the the entire engine cutting out.

I just dont floor mine any more

No. The engine never dies, just hesitates.,but seems to be noticeable at ~ 40 to 50 mph. I was thinking, could it be a sensor<<

My F250 had the same problem. The engine would just stop and then restart and run for no reason. The dealer replaced the throttle position sensor.

Podsim

sounds more like shift pattern.. which is related to the TPS.. if u have a voltmeter id test the WOT and idle voltage to see if it reads correctly

I have a '01 w/ a 4.6L and was getting hesitation at 45-50 mph. I put some dielectric lube on the COP's and it's running fine now.
