I was trying to replace the lower ball joint left side and the axel slipped and cut the outside CV boot----- how do you replace this boot

 

OUch!

If you have the lower ball joint off, then you may be able to wrangle the half-shaft out of the spindle (if not, off comes the upper ball joint too). then you should be in a good place for removing the half shaft.

Personally, If I have to take mine that far down, I am going to pull the shaft and replace the CV joint and boot at the same time.

It looks like the inner axel is bolted to a flange next to the differential do you remove those bolts to remove the whole axel assembly ----- it is already loose and hanging (on the outside section by the steering nuckle). How hard is it to dissasemble the inner CV joint to replace the outer boot. Are these boots available
