From Cobra to F150.... questions about HP

Evening everyone,

New here. For the last year and a half I've been driving an '04 SVT Cobra. She was my baby. Blk convertible modded to near 460 HP. My wife had been driving my 2002 F150 Lariat FX4 extended cab.

Shes pregnant, and I get my 3 kids every other weekend. So, I needed something with a 3rd row. The only senseable thing to do was trade my Cobra in for a 3rd row vehicle. I got an 03 Expedition with all the bells n whisltes. There is not another option available on that truck. I like it, but its not my Cobra.

Anywho, I am now back into my F150 and the wife is driving the Expedition. Currently the only other thing I have on the truck is a Flowmaster exhaust with dual tips. I am looking to increase my HP since I will be driving this for atleast another 2 years. ( I do plan on buying a project Mustang, to make a 600HP daily driver), but until then I am looking to get a bit more HP outta my pick-up.

I know the obvious is intake and exhaust. I'll probably be going with the Mac Performance exhaust to start. But, I havent really looked around for air intakes for this truck.

Any suggestions, and any other suggestion to more bolt-on options to help me out?

Thanks a bunch and I look forward to talking more to you all,

Steve

welcome to the site.
I'm not sure on HP upgrades for our trucks but i think the biggest gain is a tuner. check out the chips forum and look for Mike Troyer. he can get you what you want. he is the man to talk too.
All my spare cash goes in to modding my stang not the truck.

As long as you're ordering from MAC give their CAI a look.
I haven't gotten to the exhaust yet but I have the MAC CAI and BBK underdrive pulleys and I can feel a pretty good difference. Mostly higher up.

OUCH Lee...
I prefer to shave tenths off the '90 GT as well but I didn't want to rub it in on the poor guy. He just lost his pony. A little sensitivity my brother.

Man, i can certainly relate. I have a blown 95 cobra vert that i have been driving the past few days. I had forgotten how FAST and how SMALL it is compared to my 04 f150 screw. I just purchased the EDGE programmer for my 04 and it is amazing!!! It helped bridge my thirst for power. I dont know how the programmer is for the 02 is though. I had a superchips chip in my 01 and it sucked.....

If you want more performance I wouldnt be looking at Mac. There is a reason its priced cheaper than everything else.

Basics mods as Im sure you know-Intake, exhaust, tune, efans, u-pulleys. After that you can start going a little further-heads, cams, etc.
