When I turn on my defroster my engine will drop to 500 rpm or less and almost die. I hear what i guess is the clutch on the compressor kicking in and thats when it bogs down the engine. I have seen on here where some people have removed the whole a/c. I was wondering if this affeted the defroster any by removing the whole thing and what parts i will need to do it. (By the way the a/c doesnt work )

 

the AC helps clear the windshield of condensation when you turn on the defroster. If the AC already dont work you should not notice a differance. Sounds like the compressor is trying to lock up. You shold be able to unplug the compressor without removing it.
