service engine soon

i've got a 2002 F150 4.6 V8 with 78k miles on it. Check engine light came on recently, i've put a fuel additive in & ran it through a tank, changed the gas cap and the light still comes on. any ideas gentleman and or ladies?

the truck still drives very well, so there doesn't seem to be a major problem

thanks in advance

what was it was it a excessive air flow... or insufficient air flow....if so then it's an EGR issue... either with the EGR or with the sensor

Oh, great! Another AutoZone diagnosis.

At least they have a 50% chance of being right if they told you the DPFE sensor.

It's either that or clogged EGR ports which they cannot test since they down't know how. The ports and the EGR valve can be tested using a simple vacuum test.

Do you remember the exact code? In the form PXXXX
If you cant remember it, go back and get the codes scanned again, write down the code and post it here. We'll tell you what to do from there.
