Maybe going Volant

Anybody have an air box for their airforce one air intake? I haven't found one. Without the box it's just sucking hot air. That's not good, right? I think I'm going to change to the Volant Cold air intake because it makes use of the hole in the fender and it looks like it pretty well protects the intake from heated air.

No one makes a box for the AF1 that I know of. BUT-test have been done-and when your going down the road, the temp. of the air going into the intake is hardly any hotter than with a intake with a box. Not enough to make that much difference. And your not going to see any noticable difference at all in performance. If you ask me, replacing your AF1 with the Volant would be a step backwards.

I have nothing against Volant-heck, if I was going to put an intake on my truck it would be the Volant just because it has the box. My driving conditions and boxless intakes just dont mix. I modded my stock intake instead.

If its that big of deal to you, you could make up a heat shield for your AF1. But dont expect much, if any, difference.

Thanks for the info. I'll keep my AF1 and spend the money on something else.
