hypertech

I was wondering if any one had some comments on this item. I have a 2001 supercrew 4x4 w/5.4. I wanted some more power and heard about this but was wondering how well it worked. I have the K&N, Flowmaster"s already in my truck but still looking for more power. I couldnt even yank my buddies 01 Ram 1500 for a mud puddle in 4 low or what ever I did!!

They will work. But I think almost everyone on here will send you in Mike Troyers direction. Most likely your best bet for a tune. He does CUSTOM tuning with Superchip hardware. Check out the Chips forum, or TroyerPerformance.com.

Mike Troyer costs the same as a Hypertech, and you get more with Mike. Go with him.

I've also wondered about this. What kind of notices do do you get with the chip as far as performance goes? Overall increase HP, torque, acceleration, etc.??? Before I throw out some $$$ I want to make sure I will realize some big changesfrom the chip/tune...

The hypertech cost anywhere from 330.00 to 399.00. It says it is suppose to help in gas mileage and other things. I read some where of someone getting a extra hundred miles out of there tank, but if your putting in 87 and then have to use 91 after, wheres the deal in increased fuel mileage? You still have to pay more for 91 right?

Raiderone, instead of calculating miles per gallon try miles per dollar. If you are traveling further on a dollar then it would make sense to by the higher octane. Has anyone done this comparison? I get better performance/miliage with 89 vs 87 but still pay more per mile.
