Please spin your Fan
Please spin your Fan
OK, here's the deal . . . I may have a bad fan clutch, but I need your help!
Please go out to your F150, open the hood, verify that your engine is COLD, then turn your fan by hand.
Riddle me this:
Is it loose (i.e. spins freely, keeps moving after pressure remved)
Is it middlin (moves easily with very little pressure)
Is it tight (only moves with a reasonable amount of pressure applied)
Is it frozen (takes two hands to move, or even not at all)
My Hanes manual says it should 'turn freely' with a cold engine, mine's pretty stiff, but I'm not sure exactly how much pressure 'turn freely' implies . . . I'd appreciate any interpretations from folks with cold engines and properly functioning fan clutches!
Thanks All!
