A little rough at take off
Just bought a 05 Super Crew Lariat with 5.4L. Drove a Honda Accord before. Maybe it's just me noticing the difference between a full size pickup and Honda 4 banger, but when the engine is a little cold and I press the gas I get a 1/2 second of rough running when I press the accelerator to start rolling from a dead stop? I another 05 (same truck but not a super crew) and it did it a little less than mine.
Is it just me?
Is it just me?
thanks for your reply. I hadn't thought of cold as being a factor but It could be that the big ole V8 just runs a little rougher than the Honda 4 banger
With that said
It ranges between 35 and 60 here in NC between morning and afternoon.

Since we have the same temps but I don't have any roughness then I would say you have a problem with your truck.
Sounds to me like it may be running a bit lean when cold. I would take it to the dealer. Maybe there is a PCM reflash that will fix it and they can get you in and out quickly. <just a guess

Running lean means that your engine isn't getting enough fuel. Unless there is a mechanical/electromechanical problem then this is exactly the sort of thing that might be corrected by reprogramming the PCM.
