Puttering at idle

I have a 97 F150 with the 5.0 engine. I have noticed lately that it seems to be missing at idle. Is this a common problem? Are there any other syptoms I should look for? I recently changed the spark plugs and wires in hopes of fixing the problem..although it does it less, it still does it...maybe cap and rotor? The truck also has a slight oil leak which i intend on fixing soon..maybe that could be another problem?

Any advice is appreciated
Thanks,
JohnnyB

My '87 5.0 does the same thing, and you said a tune up helped but didn't cure the missing problem? It's driving me nuts too
