I have a '93, half ton with the 351 lightning or 5.8 litre, 130k miles. Fuel injected with dual fuel tanks. This has been the best truck I've ever owned and it has always started at the first turn of the key. I have had no percievable performance loss up until this problem. I drove across town with the vehicle running great, the truck sat for about 5 hours and when I went to start it it would just turn and not fire.

I've checked fuel pressure from both tanks by straight wiring the fuel pumps and checking pressure just ahead of the injectors, 45lbs and 40lbs from each tank. I have spark, but I changed out the module just in case I was getting low current to the plugs. Now the truck acts like it wants to start(barely) but wont. When I run the codes I get a fault on the 'ect' and 'act' sensors. When I shoot ether into the throttle body it fires but doesn't start.

I'm still confused as to which system is having problems, any ideas?>?

 

CHanged the plugs, they sound fouled. This happened to me on a 99 taurus, it would start then stutter and stall. New plugs, wires, and a fuel prussure adjuster did the trick for me
