lightning swap

I am considering puting a lightning supercharger on my 01 5.4 4x4. What i was wondering is what all do i need to make this happen besides the supercharger and a good tune? I dont really want to spend more then $2500. Any help would be apreciated.

Just a couple things off the top of my head:
intercooler
IC resevoir
intake and filter
intake manfold
re-tune

There's a superchargers and turbochargers section on this site, you might get some better answers there.

you would also need to upgrade most, if not all of your internals. Best bet, find a wrecked 01 lightning & buy the motor, SC, harness & computer.

I think you will find that most people install a supercharger without upgrading the internals. It's not necessary if it's a conservative set up.

I installed a Magnacharger on the '98 F150, 4.6, that I had. I did the first 10k at about 6lbs boost and 20k at about 9lbs. That's with stock internals. Never had an issue. I traded that truck in with 60k on it for my current truck.

You don't "need" to upgrade the internals unless you are going to run at high boost levels.

The price sounds good for that Lightning supercharger. It sounds like it comes with some important stuff. I don't know if it's a deal or not though.

I would suggest going to the supercharger forum and do a search. I know that there are a few that have done the install and from what I've read it's a some what involved procedure. There is a lot of information in the supercharger section that you will find relevent.

it would probably be easier to get one of these to work on your truck
