Fuel Filter Tool

Where can I get the tool to release the fuel lines from the fuel filter? 98 f150 4.6.

Pep Boys, Auto Zone. . . . Any of the major parts stores will carry them. Ask the parts counter guy. Most of them come in a set of different sizes so you shouldn't have to worry about which size you need. I have both the plastic and the metal versions. I prefer the plastic one as it is easier to work with.

fuel filter

Thanks alot. New to f150s. Got mine 3weeks ago.Was a dodge guy before.

i like the plastic. never had one break in the 10 years Ive had them. the metal scissor kind are just a little big and cumbersome. they only cost $10 what ever kind you get.

Newt,

I prefer the plastic ones because they provide more "wrap" on the fuel line. I believe that it is almost 360* of wrap which makes it (in my experience) easier to open up and release the spring.

The metal one that I have (yours may be different) only has 180* of wrap, and never seems to work well. At least not without raising my bloodpreasure.
