2002 Coolant problem
2002 Coolant problem
I have a 2002 SuperCrew with a 4.6 Triton V-8. My check engine light came on and when I had it scanned at Autozone they told me it was a P125 code. "Engine did not reach operating temp for closed loop control" The temp gauge hardly ever moves off the bottom line even when I drive all day in 80 degree weather. Then other days it moves a little after about an hour of driving. The coolent level is fine. Does this sound like the coolant sensor needs replaced and if so where is it located on the engine? Any thoughts?
Thanks!
Thanks!
I would bet the previous owner had a little heat problem in the hot AZ summer and pulled the thermostat. Check that out first. If there is one in there, put it in boiling water and it should open completely up.
Good luck!
