For people using CAI's

Has anyone noticed if your CAI makes your engine ping in the winter months? Is it because it pulls more air? I just put a MAC air intake on my F150 this Summer, and it ran fine until it turned cold. But I remember my stock air intake would do the same thing. I took it back off and put the stock air intake back on with just a drop-in K&N filter in it, and it helped it a little. I've also had to resort to running 89 octane to stop the pinging. I also ran a bottle of Berryman's B-12 fuel system cleaner through the gas tank. It has helped, as there is just a slight hint of pinging now. I've done the same routine every Winter since I bought it new almost five years ago. Is it a common thing for a Ford engine to do that?
