pullies

im thinking of getting the pullies for my 2000 5.4 i have superchips, custom exhaust, volant intake and 33's.. will i notice much differance? and how hard are they to install.. i live in an apt building so i would like to do it in the parking lot rather then drive 4 hours to my rents house... is it just taking the belt off and unbolting the old pullies? or do i need a puller and some time? thanks for any help guys

You will need a puller, and from what I have read when you run a taller/wider tire you should run your idle a little higher. Slowing down your power steering pump makes it a little harder to turn the wheel.
I would like to know how the pullies work out for you I'm thinking of getting some also. I have the race pullies on my 82 mustang the crank pully is like 3" and I it made a pretty good diffrance on how the car ran.

from everything i have read, it will take some time, but is pretty simple to do if you have the tools. here is a link to the how-to article on it. this is for an '01, but it will be exactly the same for you.

In my experience, results with the pulley changes have been hit or miss. I added the pulley mod on my 89 5.0 mustang and then took off the alternator and waterpump underdrives, due to overheating and undercharging issues. You're really not going to gain anything at all by doing it. You'd get much better results by swapping over to E-fans and eliminating the factory fan, butm thats just my opinion. (and I run a blown 5.4 with stock pullies)
