When to change Spark Plugs

Peterson, I know how you feel after leaning over engine compartment for 3+ hours doing a plug change. I have an '01 5.4 and I have changed plugs a few times, and now I remove front wheels and lower the floor jack where the lower control arms are just about on the ground to make it easier working on engine. The one plug that gives me the most trouble is the #3 plug on the left side, I guess thats actually #5. The fuel rail has a sensor mounted above the coil pack and it sure is difficult getting coil pack screw out.
