Puff Puff Give

Sorry if this topic has been discussed and i missed it , but i took my truck to the dealer (04' Supercrew SLT) with a black smoke problem at start up. They tell me its a common occurance especially on the 5.4 liter? Anyone else get this or hear of this as "common". I was literally told that its fine, i can come pick up my truck lol. Any insight on this.

All that stuff is "normal" while the vehicle is under warranty..... If you were paying the bill, then of course there would be a problem.....

See if they will start a few trucks up on the lot for ya and see how much black smoke comes out the pipe..... If they all do, then I guess it's normal... If not, then they will have to explain it a bit more then they have.

Good luck!

Mitch

I have a 04 5.4 3V and nothing ever comes out cold or hot they are giving you their usual line of BS hoping you will let it go off warranty make them fix it or go to another dealer, I am fighting them on my AC wouldn't cool a bread box but they keep telling me it is within ford specs and I live in the pacific north west where it doesn't even get that hot but I'm not done with them yet. LOL

Oh im definitely on the same page as you guys, i think they are scammin me till i hit warranty expiration. which isnt for another 10,000 miles. I asked them on the phone to make sure they document that i brought the truck in for blakc smoke on occasion at start up, and out of the 3 things i took it in for, whats missing on the paperwork.......of course, no documentation that i brought it in for black smoke, and i specifically asked them to document it. Im goin back to get a gasket for the rear window monday and will be questioning their intent on their diagnosis. Thanks guys
