F150 Reboot
F150 Reboot
I just replaced the battery in my F150, and I had the battery disconnected for some time. It seems that it runs better and the radio sounds better, etc.
Did I effectivly clear out all of the "learned" data, and re-boot everything? If so, I should do it more often.

You reset the keep alive memory, fuel trims and trans tables. As adaptive strategy takes place and it relearns your driving habits, it'll eventually go back to it's same old self. Or it's, as ChrisAdams put it, the "super placebo" effect, in that mentally you think there's a huge change (like many '04+ F150 guys think with PCM updates), when in reality the changes are soooooooo subtle that you'd have to look and feel really hard to notice them.

As to your radio sounding better....you must like the factory settings.

Yeah,
I must have REALLY had it adjusted poorly... I guess I meant it is just better than it was.
The truck WAS running poorly so if it goes back to that, should I check for a code even though I did not have a CEL?
