Question Hard Start in the morning

My friend just bought a 92' ranger with the V6 4x2. Anyway in the morning it doesn't want to start but eventually will if you keep trying. I am concerned because you have to hold the key over for a long time and I don't want her to burn something up. During the day it starts just fine, it's just the first start of the day that is really hard. We have replaced the cap, rotor, and battery. Plugs and wires are next when she has the money. Any ideas what it might be? Is there a sensor that is known to go out in these trucks that would cause this? It runs very smooth, idles fine and has plenty of acceleration when it is running. Fuel pump seems fine as well. Any ideas are welcomed...........thanks!
