Air Filter/Adapter off Ebay

Hey I was just wondering what the adapter does. It says its for the MAF, but I dont know where it would go on my intake. Like I'm trying to make my own intake and just wanted to know if that adapter is what goes from the throttle body or not. If so I think I can then take that adapter put it on the throttle body then get a muffler shop to bend me a 3" piece of pipe and then have a K&N filter on the end. I'm also going to make some kinda heat shield or block off the filter so that just air from the fender comes in contact with the filter. Will this work or am I fighting a loosing battle.

Here is the Ebay link to the filter and adapter. the filter is crap i'll be throwing that out right away if i do get this.

The adapter is to attach the new filter to the MAF housing.
The sequence is Filter, adapter, MAF, tubing, Intake.

Instead of piecing the intake together just buy one of the generic Intake Kits:

Prices are around U$60 for everything. I have this one and it works fine. The filter is a generic K&N. I could not tell any difference between the blue generic and the red K&N.

Hey that intake looks ok. I'm still not sure what I wanna do. I really want the AF1 but its considerably more for me being in canada. On that intake you bought from ebay how did it hook up from the throttle body to the intake piping? Do you have any pics you can show me of it too?

One of the big rubber/plastic sleeves slides over the throttlebody intake and over the tubing. Two clamps hold it together.
There were several threads with pics in the accesories forum. A few months ago. Try searching for C3fipk. (the c3 stands for Cheap Chinese Copy)

In my opinion you're better off modifying the stock housing. I beleive this site has instructions on how to modify it.

all else fails u can just use the MAF adapter... remove the throttle body and bolt the MAF adapter directly to the intake plenum and mount the cone filter on and get ultimate WOT performance all day long!!! but dont take my word for it listen to the million of others who have tried my product and noticed and incredible gain in performance:-p.... dont try this as home kids...
