performance ?s

I am not sure if this is the right place to post this but here it goes.

Why do Chevys get such high HP gains with head swaps. I have read tons of magz about them getting anywhere from 37HP(stock) to 100+HP(modded). Also they can get serious HP from an N/A motor(400HP factory), which I have found our Mod motor to be just a little behind them, or a lot. Are Mod Motors capable of reaching these numbers, stock or modded. I have been told many times that boost is the only answer. How come Mod motors are'nt as capable as other competators?

I am not asking to get into any Brand Loyalty duke fest, I am just curious. A friendly conversation about mods and there results (HP).

Thanks
