No pointer on motor
No pointer on motor
Hello,
I'm a new member and very pleased to see a sight with so much helpful info on ford trucks. That's one of the reason why I joined the forum.
Problem 1. I have a problem i don't know how to fix. I need to adjust my camshaft syncronizer but I don't have a pointer on my motor to get the top dead center on my #1 piston. I own a 1997 Ford F-150 pickup truck, 4.2L, 2wheel drive. Just a basic truck.
Anyone know how to get (TDC) on my motor. Please let me know If anyone can help me, I would greatly appreciate the info.
Problem 2. If anyone has a vacuum line diagram for a 97 F150 4.2L it would be very appreciative.
Thank you
Booger
P.S. F150 online forum rocks!!!!!!!!!!

hi I am a new member here as well I am also looking for the vacuum diagram for the 97 f150 4.2L, not even Ford themselves have it so they say. As far as you finding tdc the old trick that still works is get a coat hanger or stiff wire pull the spark plug and turn engine over to find compression stroke then use the wire to find the top. as you turn the engine over by hand you will feel the piston moving iether up or down and you can figure the rest out I am sure.
