The Best Exhaust System On The Market Is Flowmaster 50 Series..it Gives A Great Sound..helps Gas Mileage...and More Horsepower And Torque...i Have It On My F150 Fx4 The Turndown 50 Series And Im And Very Happy With Them And I Wouldnt Change Them For Anything
ummm just because flowmaster is a big name that everyone knows and has been in business for a long time does not mean its the best. Also, have you actually had ANY MPG improvements and HP and TQ improvements based on a dyno? To say one brand, any brand, is far fetched. Everyone's truck is different and will react slightly differently to even the same modification. My advice for naimnayor7 is to wait for real opinions on the exhaust you asked about and look through the multiple exhaust topics for your specific truck using the search feature.

It made the truck idle extrememly rough. I did notice some power gains....this is just seat of the pants though.
Long story short, I would never go gibson again.
I had the Supertruck on my truck for awhile while I lived in Orlando. I liked it for awhile until I moved up north. It rusted out in less than a year in the salty roads. I have since changed to a Magnaflow stainless system. It has a much deeper sound and not as much drone in the cab as the Supertruck had. For that kind of money, I would definitely recommend a stainless system, regardless of where you live. I also changed my truck to a DIDO system when I went to Magnaflow.

To naimnayor7:
I had a Gibson SS catback once. It droned until a baffle went, then it droned & rattled.
Switched to a SS Magnaflow based upon Mike Troyer's advice & testing, and other testimonials here. Also the Maggie drones less.
Don't buy FlowBlockers if you value performance, longevity, & quality. Buy a FlowBlocker if all you want is the sound they are known for & don't mind replacing them frequently due to 'silly little baffle' breaks and/or rust-out in the snow belt regions.

I havent had an exhaust on my f150 but i used to have a 2001 Explorer Sporttrac with a 4.0 vs and i was happy with it but it was not as loud as i would have like it to be and it really didnt give hp gains or any tourque gains at leas not what i can feel. I did have it matched up with a k and n open end intake.

I'm not going to get into the whole "this muffler is better then that muffler" or the "I can pi$$ farther they you" debate......
What I can say is that the Gibson is better then stock in terms of performance and sound (no detectable mpg gains, but it didn't get any worse)...... With that said, my Gibson Swept Side lasted about two years. It didn't rust out or anything like that, but a baffle inside let loose, so it started to RATTLE....
I took it into my favorite muffler shop (where I should have gotten the 3" exhaust in the first place, but live and learn!) and they hooked me up with a Flo-Pro. He also sells Flowmaster and Magnaflow too. This was over two years ago as well.
Since I didn't want another baffled muffler the Flow was out. He didn't have any Magnaflows in stock, so he said the Flo-Pro would fit the bill just right. Actually, I had some Flo-Pros on my '86 5.0 GT and really liked them....
Anyway, I'm happy with the Flo-Pro and it's much better then the Gibson I had. Can't compare to the Flow because I've never had them before so there you go...
Why is this in the ENGINE forum???
Good luck!

Go Magnaflow
I had a Gibson single on my 98 F150 with a 4.6 and it took away all my low end torque. I trashed it and put on a Magnaflow single and it rocks. I have my low end back and also a nice rumble. Two years ago, I swapped out the 4.6 for a 5.4 and I am still very happy with the Magnaflow.

i have a gibson si/do on 97 5.4 it didnt help or hurt anything. it would be nice if it were i little louder . but if your truck is a poor powerless slug like mine you need alot more than an exuast,
maybe wedge a powerstoke down in it!
