Question Trouble Starting

My 2001 5.4 Supercrew has trouble starting periodically. It will turn over, and then immediately stall out. Sometimes I have to crank it 2 or 3 times before it will idle. This usually happens in the morning, but it can happen at other times. Most of the time it cranks right up and runs great.

This morning, I tried repeatedly to start it and the only way I could get moving was to start in neutral, run up the RPM's and drop it into drive to avoid the stall. After a few minutes it ran fine. The battery is brand new, so I don't think it is an electrical problem.

Do I have a dirty air filter (K&N), bad O2 sensor, bad EGR valve, or something else?

All comments are appreciated.

I would lean towards a dirty IAC.
