Engine Cooling Temp censor

I have a 1998 F150 with the 5.4 and I recently had a new engine put in. since then the check engine light is on and the code is telling me it is the engine cooling temp. sensor. I Can't find where it is located, apparently it is differnent then the temp switch which is located on the block. I have had 8 heads under this hood and we can't find it. Chiltons is no help and neither is the schematic from the dealership. Does anyone know where it is?

mortiz,

I just scanned in an image from my Haynes manual. Not much detail but it looks like the sensor is located on the front side of the engine below and behind the alternator. A link is attached that will take you to the image. You can email me (atsioukl@tampabay.rr.com) for a better pic.

Hope this helps!

Anthony
