quick air filter inquery ?

I'm running a '04 4.6. ( still bone stock ) I look up the part # and pricing for a new airfilter ( motorcraft ) on both Ford's part site and my local parts store site. They both call for the same part " fa-1632" I go too my store my pal double checks the # and I buy it. I open up the system to make the swap
and the one in there from the factory is a fa-1634 ? I look that up and the search comes up " no match on that part #" ???? It was in the truck from the factory ( Kansas City build ) why no match on a parts search ? Any ideas ? The fa-1634 is a heavy duty orange one which I would like too get another one of instead of the wimpy looking fa-1632 which is white in color and doesn't seem half as heavy duty as the other ......

Sometimes, engineering part numbers (the number on the original part) and service part numbers don't match. And sometimes, the exact service part isn't available. Just the way the ball bounces.
