97 Lincoln Town Car E-Fan??
97 Lincoln Town Car E-Fan??
I have an 01 5.4L. I want to put an e-fan in it, but don't want to spend mucho $ for a fan. I can get an e-fan from a 97 lincoln town car for pretty cheap. It's an 18 incher with a shroud.
Will this fit??

pretty sure the fan will "fit" physically. How were you going to run this fan? seems like I would just bite the bullet and purchase a professionally put together kit for something so important.
yes it will work most stock 18" electric fans from ford push 2100CFM to 4000 CFM which is more then adequet for up to a 400 HP engine... so yes it will work. im likely going to do the same but i want pusher fans so imma likely get some twin 2500CFM fans and mount them on front of the AC condensor. since the fans always push more then they can pull.

As far as fit goes....will the shroud cover the radiator? I can take measurements, but I've been too lazy lately

which is more then plenty for your engine and relays are 50 bucks at the most if u buy a kit.
There is a little more to the controller than a relay. If you have a/c then it is even more complicated. If the fan runs all of the time at full speed then your engine will never come up to temp. Of course, if it doesn't come on when it needs to be than you get the opposite problem. The controller is a thermostat that monitors engine temp and turns the fan on and off as needed. It has an overide that turns on the fan at a lower speed or just one fan in the case of a dual fan set up for the A/C. The fan in the tc is controlled by the engine computer and a fan module. you would need to somehow duplicate that set up in your truck.
