Normal Noises?

I asked this a while back, but didnt get an answer. I have a 2000 4.2 v6.

Is it normal for these trucks to have such a throaty engine sound, and is it normal to hear a clicking noise all the time, that increases when i accelerate??

Here is a sound clip, although it sounds very thoraty, the exhaust is completley 100 percent stock, except for a chaep $5 tailpipe. this was outside of the truck on the tail pipe side, around 6 ft away.

Ill try to record the clicking sound later.

But mine is completely stock and it sounds very throaty. how about the clicking or ticking noises? Could it be the lifters?
