K&N really WORKS!!!
I have an 01 F150 w/ 4.6. I just bought the truck about 3 weeks ago. (62K miles) When I bought it, it had a slight hesitation when taking off from a dead stop. Last week, I put a K&N filter in and after about 2 or 3 days, ALL of the hesitation is now GONE! Now it responds instantly when I touch the gas! 
PROOF to me that the K&N filter works in a positive way. And for me, was worth the $44 for it. 
If you don't have one, get one.

I have a 2004 XLT Screw, and after install I noticed that around 3600 RPMs the truck picks up pretty quick, Im not saying It gained 10 HP I know It didn't but It picks up faster around that RPMs because of the airflow. I had the hesitation (LAG) to, It's still there but not as much. Then I got the Reflash for my truck and now the hesitation is gone.
